Hi, I am Per Solli, a Norwegian entrepreneur that had a dream of starting a software company and succeeding in the United States. And we did it! Simple!

The articles on these pages will hopefully help you learn from our mistakes and be inspired by our successes. I am often using the term ‘our’, as none of these successes or failures could have happened alone. It was always as ‘US’ and thus ‘OURS”.

The journey began by moving from Norway to Zurich, where the company I worked for was engaged by ABB. The project was to design and new and modern and Windows based Enterprise Reporting System for ABB worldwide. In 1996, an opportunity presented itself, and our first company, Solver, was launched and incorporated in Los Angeles.

Solver was a software company that provided business intelligence solutions to its clients. The company’s flagship turned from Enterprise Reporting to BI360, that eventually turned into a cloud-based platform that allowed businesses to manage their financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. 

Solver’s success was due in large part to Per Solli’s vision and leadership in the early years in close partnership with my partners. You will be introduced to eached and one of them later in these articles. After a big change in 2008, which you will read more about later, the new team took Solver to the next level and under their guidance, the company grew rapidly and expanded its operations to include offices in Europe and Asia.

In 2015, Power ON was founded, a software company that specializes in corporate performance management solutions based on Microsoft Power BI. The company’s mission was to help businesses make better decisions by providing them with the tools they need to analyze their data and gain insights into their operations.

Per Solli’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, he never gave up on his dream of starting a successful software company in the United States. His story is an inspiration to entrepreneurs everywhere, and his legacy will continue to live on through the companies he founded.
